Product Introduction

The hot dross after refining aluminum water in the aluminum dross separator or rotary furnace can cool 700-900°C high-temperature aluminum dross to normal temperature within 10-15 minutes through water spray heat exchange,avoiding the high temperature aluminum dross Burning,oxidation,and grading screening can basically realize mechanized operation,while automatically separating coarse and fine dross(40-80 mesh).

A complete aluminum dross recycling production line typically includes the following core stages:

Hot-state recovery (aluminum extraction)

– This is the stage that generates the greatest economic value. Hot dross (about 700–900 °C), freshly skimmed from the melting furnace, is fed into equipment such as a rotary furnace.

– Through rotation and stirring of the furnace body, and with the addition of a fluxing agent to modify the interface between aluminum and dross, the molten aluminum is collected and separated.

– The recovered molten aluminum can be directly cast into ingots or transferred to holding furnaces for further production. The aluminum recovery rate at this stage can reach over 70 %, and with advanced processes it can even exceed 95 %.

Cooling and stabilisation

– After the liquid aluminum is separated, the remaining hot ash (primary aluminum dross) must be rapidly cooled.

– A dross cooling barrel/cooler is the core equipment here. Through indirect water cooling via water spray on the outer shell, the dross is quickly cooled to below 50–60 °C while being tumbled, effectively preventing further oxidation of aluminum and solidifying hazardous substances.

Crushing and screening (resource recovery)

– The cooled dross is sent to a ball mill for crushing, and then classified by particle size through a screening machine.

Typically, products such as large lumps, medium lumps, and fine ash are separated.

Large/medium lumps contain a higher proportion of aluminum and can be returned to the furnace for re‑melting.

Fine ash (secondary aluminum dross)

– This is a finer material that, depending on its composition, can be used to produce refining slag, calcium aluminate powder, refractories, or as a raw material for cement and other building materials.
